The Town of Sullivan’s Island, a barrier island north of Charleston Harbor. The island is comprised primarily of full or part time citizens that enjoy the relaxed lifestyle of the Island. There are very few short-term rentals and no hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, or other transient lodging. Sullivans Island is loaded with history, from revolutionary war battles, surviving devastating storms and hurricanes, and being home to the legendary, Edgar Allan Poe. Today, you can stand on the same ground those battles were fought at historic Fort Moultrie, or grab a burger at Poe’s, a hotspot for locals and visitors alike. Sullivans Island is largely a residential island with charm and character that is not commonly seen in communities today.
